SUMMARY:4th ECSA Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 4th ECSA Conference runs under the cross-cutting theme of Citizen Science for Planetary Health. The concept of planetary health is based on the understanding that human health and human civilization depend on thriving natural systems and the sustainable stewardship of those natural systems. This demands not only knowledge\, commitment and engagement of health and environmental sciences\, but inter- and transdisciplinary efforts from all research fields and societal and political actors. \nThe ECSA 2022 Conference invites researchers from all disciplines\, civil society actors\, citizen scientists\, policy decision-makers and all interested in the topic in Europe and worldwide to reflect\, discuss and network around the topic of Citizen Science for Planetary Health. \nThe call for proposals is now open until May 31\, 2022. \nAll info and submissions are available here: \nhttps://express.converia.de/frontend/index.php?folder_id=4777&page_id=

SUMMARY:Science Europe Open Science Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:What is the Conference about\nScience Europe is organising a conference on Open Science. The event will bring together institutional leaders\, researchers at all stages of their careers\, and experts from the field to discuss two main questions: \n\nIs Open Science ready to become the norm in research?\nHow do we ensure an equitable transition to Open Science?\n\nHow to attend\nThe Open Science Conference will be held on 18 and 19 October 2022 and broadcasted as a hybrid event live from Brussels. Participants are invited to join the plenary and breakout sessions online. Connection details will be shared with registrants closer to the event. \nMore information here \nFind the agenda here \nRegistrations here \nWhat will be discussed\nThe COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the value of open and collaborative research\, and several recent publications have driven the implementation of Open Science policies and the need to discuss shared values\, principles\, and standards. These include the final report of the Open Science Policy Platform (2020) and UNESCO’s ‘Recommendation on Open Science’ (2021). \nThe Conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the current policy initiatives\, research assessment reforms\, and financial measures that support the transition to Open Science\, and look forward to new trends. Participants are invited to discuss the many facets related to the transition in a highly interactive event. \nTopics include: \n\nOpen Science and society\, including equity\nOpen Access to all types of research outputs\nEvolving research assessment and evaluation practices\nAccess to and use of open research infrastructures\nOpen Science policies\n\nThe goal is to bring clarity to an increasingly complex transition and the sprawling number of interlinked initiatives that affect the future of the research and innovation landscape. The conference will be one of the first to establish and explore equity as a key consideration in its own right when discussing Open Science.
