SUMMARY:Making the case for Public Engagement - GRACE Final webinars
DESCRIPTION:GRACE (Grounding RRI Actions to Achieve Institutional Changes in European Research Funding and Performing Organisations) is a H2020 funded project under the specific objective “Science with and for Society”. Its goal is to support the European Commission’s objective of spreading and embedding Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in the European Research Area. \nFor almost three years\, GRACE project partners have worked towards implementing fundamental institutional change in 6 research performing and funding organisations. With an intense mutual learning programme and a co-creation environment\, six expert partners have supported six other partners in developing a set of specific RRI-orientated Grounding Actions in their organisation. These actions have provided a basis for developing tailored 8-year RRI Roadmaps within these institutions to ensure their sustainability and full implementation over the long-term. \nAs the project comes to an end\, project partners will share their findings and provide stakeholders with useful knowledge to implement RRI in research performing and funding organisations by organising a set of eight thematic webinars. \nFrom 26 October to 14 December\, these webinars will each address a different topic related to GRACE\, with the participation of experts inside and outside of the project. \n\n26 October: Main considerations at the start of an RRI project\n2 November: Making the case for Public Engagement \n9 November: The challenges of developing gender equality plans (GEPs) in Research Funding Organisations\n16 November: Public Engagement from the Research Funding Organisations’ Perspective\n23 November: Evaluating the Impacts and Benefits of RRI initiatives\n30 November: Bottom-up RRI initiatives\n7 December: Ethics and Data Protection in Humanities Research\n14 December: RRI & Sustainability: shifting Responsibly towards a Circular Economy\n\nEach webinar will take place online from 2:00pm  to 3:30pm CET

SUMMARY:Co-creation workshop – Session I
DESCRIPTION:The INCENTIVE project aims to support research institutes on how to create and operate their own Citizen Science Hub with the aim to secure a democratic and collaborative way of doing research and setting research agendas. \nTo this end\, we organize a Co-creation workshop with key experts in fields relevant to Citizen Science. The goal of this workshop is to co-define pivotal aspects of the organisation and activities of the Citizen Science Hubs. The core means for the workshop is to engage the key stakeholders of each region and to ensure substantial engagement of everyone involved. \nThe co-creation workshops will be broken down in four online sessions. The first three sessions will take place in June\, whereas the final session will take place in September. It will be fully online through the use of two digital applications: Zoom and Mural. \nWhat happens with the outcomes?\nThe outcomes of the Co-creation workshop are of vital importance to the next phases of INCENTIVE feeding the governance and operating models of each of the hubs as well as the pilots of each of the hubs. \nParticipants and observants \nEach of the four universities has nominated approx. 5 key stakeholders in the regional ecosystem that represent the quadrats of the Quadruple Helix: academia\, government\, private sector and civil society. In addition\, partners from the INCENTIVE project also will join the session as observers to get direct access to the process and outcomes of the session that are relevant for their share of the project. The observers may not influence the co-creation process. \nThe approach\, organisation and moderation of the workshops is done by the DesignLab (University of Twente). The core team includes Janine Swaak who will moderate the Co-creation workshop\, Maya van den Berg who is INCENTIVE programme manager and Jasper Häsler who provides technical support. \nStay tuned for more updates on the Co-creation sessions!
