About the ATHENA alliance

The ATHENA alliance is part of the EU University Alliances initiative, an EU-wide flagship initiative for higher education development that puts forward transnational collaborations between European higher education institutions. More than 40 university alliances operate under the initiative, which can reportedly produce positive externalities to individual researchers’ academic and professional updating, such as higher chances of employment, stronger language and cultural competence, and increasing interdisciplinary endeavours between researchers.
