The Citizen Science Hub (CSh) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in collaboration with the Environmental Informatics Research Group of AUTH co-organizes with the Experimental School of AUTH (ES) the event on: “Citizen science in classrooms: measuring the quality of the air we breathe”.

The event will take place at the KEDEA building on Friday 28 April from 12:00-14:00. The purpose of the event is to present the citizen science project activities at the ES, its first results, and to initiate the participatory analysis of the collected data towards drawing first conclusions.

The ES community is participating in recording human activities within classrooms, alongside the recording of air pollution levels, the latter being done with the aid of devices that directly visualize particulate matter and carbon dioxide levels. The project aims to shed light on the relationship between human presence and activity on the one hand and air quality on the other and to co-create best practices that may lead to the reduction of air pollution levels to which pupils are exposed.
