During the webinar, which will be performed in an interactive form, members of the CS Track team will share strategies for science communication in citizen science projects, provide an overview of relevant software and resources, and help participants explore an easy-to-use free data visualisation tool.

The event will help participants will learn more about the “dos and don’ts” of science communication in a CS context, get an overview of free online resources and tools, and find out how they can use Flourish to easily visualise their projects’ research data.

The webinar will be divided into two parts:

  • First, members of the CS Track team will share strategies and methods for communicating project goals, activities, and results to both (prospective) project participants and the general public, drawing on their own experience, published research, and resources produced by the CS community.
  • Second, the team will introduce a powerful, user-friendly tool that is available online free of charge – Flourish. Following a short demonstration using examples from the CS Track project, participants will have the opportunity to create their own graphs and diagrams and receive guidance and feedback from the workshop organizers.

The workshop is going to be particularly valuable to organisations, initiatives, and projects that seek institutional change through Science communication, Citizen Science, and Open Science. Researchers, institutions, project initiators/coordinators, are the primary target audience, but anyone interested in Citizen Science is more than welcomed!
