About the conference

The EU-funded projects EU-Citizen.Science and ACTION are co-organising their final conference named “the future of citizen science: sharing experiences from the European community”. The conference will be a gathering of the global citizen science community full of exciting talks, sharing of experiences, stimulating debates, and informal networking moments. You will hear from a great variety of speakers, be able to share your ideas, and meet like-minded individuals.

The conference is aimed at sharing experiences and stimulating debates about the role citizen science can play in supporting a sustainable, just, and green Europe. Over two days you will hear from a great variety of speakers, be able to share your ideas, and meet like-minded individuals. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to:

  • Hear from over twenty  different speakers from across Europe
  • Take part in the satellite high-level policy event
  • Take part in discussions during a variety of interactive sessions
  • Check out the booth area for some inspiring citizen science projects
  • Enjoy the networking moments, culinary experiences, and social rooms

This online conference is jointly organised by the ACTION and the EU-Citizen.Science projects and proudly supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

The event will take place online from 11:00 to 16:30 CET on 24 November and from 10:00 to 13:00 CET on 25 November.

Virtual booth for pilot partners

During the conference, a virtual booth space is envisioned. The organisers are delighted to have your projects showcasing their achievements in this virtual space. More specifically, in the virtual space, it will be possible to show a slideshow or a video and there will be a one-hour session on the 24th (from 2 to 3 PM CET) in which participants of the conference will be able to interact with you in your virtual booth.

All projects are welcomed of course, but – for those of you who have pilots –  it will be nice to give visibility mainly to them, i.e. to specific citizen science activities taking place as part of your project so as to put the communities in the spotlight.

If you are interested in this opportunity please write to Antonella Passani ([email protected]) or Claudia Fabo Carts ([email protected]). The deadline for expressing your interest is November the 8th at the end of the day.
